SERVICE TERMS · UPDATED 6 SEPTEMBER 2026

Using CheckControl.

CheckControl is a trading name of JOSHCURTIS-PRODUCTIONS. LTD, which operates the service. These terms explain the service and the responsibilities of organisations and staff using it.

1. The service

CheckControl helps organisations assign, record and review operational checks. The Check control iPhone app is a free staff companion for organisations using the service. Live work requires an individual account and an active organisation membership. The sample workspace uses fictional local data and is available without an account.

2. Operational responsibility

Organisations are responsible for checklist content, staff training, access assignments, suitable record-retention arrangements, reviewing failed or missed checks and taking appropriate action. CheckControl supports oversight; it does not replace competent supervision, statutory inspections or an organisation’s legal responsibilities. A completed digital record is not proof that a physical condition was safe. Use your organisation’s emergency procedures when an urgent or dangerous situation requires immediate action.

3. Individual accounts

Use your own account, protect your credentials and report suspected compromise to your manager and support@checkcontrol.org. Shared accounts and attempts to access another organisation’s information are prohibited. Managers control organisation membership and assigned work. Removing access does not erase submitted operational records.

4. Appropriate content

Only submit information you are authorised to provide for the workplace task. Do not upload unlawful or abusive material, unrelated personal information, unnecessary sensitive or patient information, credentials or other secrets. Organisations must have the necessary rights to their checklist and workplace content. Report inappropriate content to your manager or support@checkcontrol.org so it can be investigated.

5. Connectivity and notifications

Loading new work, account changes and sending issue reports require a connection. Routines loaded online can be saved locally and queued while offline. Queued routines send when connectivity returns with the app open. Check their status before relying on receipt by your manager. Notification delivery depends on permissions, preferences, device settings, network access and external providers; the app does not guarantee immediate delivery of every alert.

6. Organisation subscriptions

The iPhone app has no purchase flow. Organisation setup, trials and subscriptions are managed separately by the employer. The organisation’s confirmed order or checkout sets out the plan, charges, billing period and applicable offer. Read that order before agreeing to a paid service. Staff deleting an app account does not cancel their employer’s subscription. Contact support@checkcontrol.org about an organisation subscription, cancellation or billing question.

6a. Trial, renewal and cancellation

The subscription trial lasts 14 days unless your confirmed offer extends it. Cancel the subscription before the trial ends to avoid subscription charges. After the trial, subscriptions renew monthly or annually according to the selected plan. Annual subscriptions are paid upfront. The organisation owner can cancel through the billing portal in the workspace, or contact support@checkcontrol.org before renewal if the portal is unavailable. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current trial or paid billing period; access continues until then. Deleting a staff account does not cancel the organisation’s subscription.

6b. Requesting a refund

Contact support@checkcontrol.org with your organisation name and invoice reference, stating whether you want to cancel setup, the subscription, or both. Do not send card details. We refund any amount due to the original payment method without undue delay and within 14 days of confirming the amount due, or sooner where required by law; your bank may take additional time to show the credit. Ending a subscription stops future renewal and does not automatically refund a paid billing period. Contact us about an incorrect charge, a service problem or another refund entitlement so we can assess it. Nothing in this policy removes statutory cancellation rights or remedies for services not provided as agreed.

7. Workplace records and exports

Organisations retain ownership of the operational content they provide. CheckControl stores and displays it to deliver the service. Authorised managers can export available records through the Reports workspace. Organisations should confirm suitable retention settings and export records they need; the service is not a promise of permanent evidence storage. Account deletion and evidence expiry are explained in the privacy notice. Submitted work remains subject to applicable data rights and actual legal retention obligations.

8. Staff account deletion

Staff can initiate account deletion in the iPhone app under Profile, then Delete my account, using their current password. This removes sign-in and notification access and clears saved local work after confirmation. The retained profile name and email are removed and historical attribution displays “Deleted staff member”. Submitted employer checks, reports, photos and notes remain under the organisation’s access controls and retention settings. Returning staff need a new invitation and separate account. See the privacy notice for the limits of this deletion and how to request action on retained personal information.

9. Availability and updates

Maintenance, incidents and external-provider outages may affect access. Features can change as the service develops. A service-level commitment applies only where expressly agreed with the organisation. Keep the app updated and contact support if work does not send or a record appears incorrect.

10. Your rights and contact

Nothing in these terms excludes liability or limits rights where doing so would be unlawful. Separately agreed organisation terms and confirmed orders govern the relevant commercial arrangements.
